Booking and cancellation policy

1. Booking & Payment ​

  • All culinary sessions operate on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Reservations are confirmed only after full payment. (An invoice will be sent by email. The payment in Swiss Franc CHF)

  • We cannot hold spots without payment confirmation.

  • After your payment, you’ll get a confirmation email with all the workshop details.

2. Minimum Participants

  • The required number of participants may vary depending on the workshop.

  • We’ll confirm the minimum for your session when you book.

  • If the minimum isn’t met, we’ll either reschedule or adjust the session to make sure everyone still has a fantastic experience.

3. Rescheduling 

  • Life happens! You can reschedule once for free if you let us know at least 10 days before your session.

  • Less than 10 days’ notice? A 20% rebooking fee will apply.

  • New dates depend on availability.

4. Cancellations​

  • Cancel 14+ days before the session → full refund (minus a tiny 5% processing fee).

  • Cancel 10 - 14 days before the session → 50% refund.

  • Cancel less than 10 days before the session, or No-shows → no refund.

5. If We Need to Reschedule or Cancel

  • Sessions may require a minimum number of participants; if not met, we will reschedule or issue a refund.

  • In the unlikely event that If we must cancel, you will receive:

     A full refund, or the option to reschedule to another available date at no extra cost.

     We are not liable for any additional costs incurred (e.g., travel or accommodation).

6. Substitutions

  • Can’t make it? You’re welcome to send a friend in your place—just tell us their name and email at least 24 hours before the workshop.

7. Dietary Requirements

  • Let us know about allergies or dietary restrictions at least 7 days before the workshop.

  • We’ll do our best to accommodate, though some traditional ingredients may be hard to swap.

8. Be On Time

  • Workshops start on time! Arriving late may mean missing part of the fun, and we can’t offer partial refunds

Booking & Payment (Corporate clients)

  • Corporate events are charged at a fixed total price based on the maximum number of participants confirmed in advance. Additional participants may be accommodated for an extra fee if space allows.

  • Payment is made by invoice.

  • If fewer participants attend, the agreed total price still applies.

  • We kindly ask for bookings at least 1 month in advance, to allow enough time for planning and preparation. (Ideally 2-3 months in advance)​​

Private workshop or Personal Chef service at your home

Bring the Japanese cooking experience to your kitchen!

When you book a private event or personal chef service, we will come to your place to do a Japanese culinary session! (e.g. birthday party, family cooking workshop, a private session from 2 persons).

  • Travel within 15 km from Basel is included in the price.

  • For locations outside those areas, we apply a travel surcharge to cover time and transport:

    • CHF 0.70 per kilometre (round-trip), and

    • CHF 40 per hour of travel time (round-trip), estimated in advance.

  • If the total travel time is under about 30 minutes, we don’t charge extra.

  • We’ll confirm any travel costs before you book, so there are no surprises.

  • Please make sure your kitchen has enough space and basic equipment for the workshop.

Gift Voucher

Our gift vouchers make a wonderful present for anyone who loves Japanese food!
They can be used for any of our group or private workshops, depending on the voucher type.

 

1. Validity

  • Vouchers are valid for 12 months from the purchase date.

  • Please book and attend your session before the expiry date.

2. Using a Voucher

  • You can book your workshop by contacting us directly — just mention your voucher number.

  • Vouchers can be used for private workshops, group sessions, depending on what’s written on the voucher.

  • If you choose a workshop that costs more than your voucher value, you can simply pay the difference when booking.

  • The voucher will be applied to the full price, and the remaining balance can be paid TWINT or by bank transfer.

  • This allows your voucher to be used for any workshop — even higher-priced or private sessions.

3. Rescheduling or Cancellations

  • Once a workshop is booked using a voucher, our regular cancellation policy applies.

  • If you cancel or don’t attend, the voucher may be marked as redeemed.

  • You can reschedule once for free with at least 10 days’ notice.

4. Refunds

  • Vouchers are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

  • If your voucher value is higher than your chosen workshop, the remaining balance can be used toward another class before expiry.

5. Transfers

  • Vouchers are transferable — you can gift them to someone else!
    Just let us know their name and contact details before the workshop.
