Booking and cancellation policy
1. Booking & Payment

All culinary sessions operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
-
Reservations are confirmed only after full payment. (An invoice will be sent by email. The payment in Swiss Franc CHF)
-
We cannot hold spots without payment confirmation.
-
Once payment is processed, you will receive a confirmation email containing all workshop details and logistics.
2. Minimum Participants
-
The required minimum number of participants varies depending on the specific workshop.
-
We will communicate the minimum participant requirement for your specific session at the time of booking.
-
If a session does not meet its minimum requirement, we reserve the right to either reschedule the event or adjust the format to ensure all registered guests still enjoy a fantastic experience.
3. Rescheduling
-
Life happens! You can reschedule once for free if you let us know at least 10 days before your session.
-
Short Notice (<10 Days): Rescheduling requests made less than 10 days before the session will incur a 20% rebooking fee.
-
All rescheduling requests are subject to calendar availability.
4. Cancellations By The Guest

14+ days notice → full refund (minus a tiny 5% administrative processing fee).
-
10 - 14 days notice → 50% refund.
-
Less than 10 days notice (or No-Shows): → no refund.
5. Cancellations or Rescheduling By Us
-
Right to Cancel: We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a session if the minimum participant threshold is not met, or due to unforeseen circumstances.

In the unlikely event that we must cancel a session, you will be offered the choice of:
- A full refund of the session fee.
- A transfer to an alternative available session date at no extra cost.

Limitation of Liability: We are not liable for any secondary or additional costs incurred by the guest, such as travel, transportation, or accommodation arrangements.
6. Substitutions

Ticket Transfers: If you cannot attend, you are welcome to send someone else in your place.

Notification: You must provide us with the substitute guest’s name and email address at least 24 hours before the workshop begins.
7. Dietary Requirements

Advance Notice: Please inform us of any severe food allergies, intolerances, or dietary restrictions at least 7 days prior to the workshop.
-
Accommodations: While we will make every effort to accommodate your needs, please note that certain traditional recipes and specialty ingredients may be difficult or impossible to substitute.
8. Punctuality
-
Late Arrivals: Arriving late may result in missing key parts of the session. We are unable to delay the class or offer partial refunds for late arrivals.
Booking & Payment (Corporate clients)

Fixed Pricing: Corporate events are charged at a fixed total price based on the maximum number of participants and the venue confirmed in advance. If fewer participants attend on the day, the agreed total price still applies.

Additional Guests: Additional participants above the confirmed number may be accommodated for an extra fee, subject to venue capacity and advance notice.

Deposit Requirement: For corporate bookings with a total estimated cost exceeding CHF 1,500, a 50% deposit is required to secure the date and initiate event planning. For events under CHF 1,500, no deposit is required.

Payment Terms: Payment is made via invoice. The remaining balance (or the full amount for events under CHF 1,500) will be invoiced following the event. All invoices are payable net 30 days from the invoice date in Swiss Francs (CHF).

Booking Timeline: To ensure seamless planning and preparation, we kindly request bookings at least 1 month in advance (ideally 2 to 3 months notice for larger groups).
1. Cancellation Fees By The Client
If a corporate client cancels a confirmed event, the following fees apply based on how much notice is given:

30+ days notice: Full refund of any deposit paid, minus a 5% administrative processing fee.

14 to 29 days notice: The 50% deposit is retained as a cancellation fee. If no deposit was paid (events under CHF 1,500), an invoice for 50% of the total estimated cost will be issued.

Less than 14 days notice (or No-Shows): 100% of the total agreed price is due, and no refunds will be issued. Any outstanding balance will be invoiced immediately.
2. Rescheduling By The Client

Advance Notice (30+ Days): You may reschedule your corporate event once for free to an available future date, provided you notify us at least 30 days prior to the original date.
-
Short Notice (14 to 29 Days): Rescheduling requests made within this window will incur a 20% rebooking fee based on the total event price to cover lost dates and administrative logistics.

Less than 14 Days: Rescheduling requests made less than 14 days before the event are treated as a cancellation and will require a new booking at full price.
3. Cancellations or Changes By Us

Force Majeure & Unforeseen Events: In the highly unlikely event that we must cancel your corporate session due to emergencies or unforeseen operational constraints, you will be offered a full refund of all amounts paid or a priority transfer to a mutually agreeable alternative date.

Limitation of Liability: We are not liable for any secondary or additional costs incurred by the corporate client or their attendees, including but not limited to travel, flights, transit, or accommodation arrangements.
Private workshop & Personal Chef services
Bring the Japanese cooking experience to your kitchen!
Whether it is a birthday celebration, a family cooking workshop, or an intimate private culinary session for two, we bring the art of Japanese cuisine directly to your home.
1. Travel & Transport Fees
Travel costs are calculated as follows:

Included Zone: Travel within a 15 km radius from Basel is entirely free of charge.

Extended Zone Surcharges: For locations beyond 15 km from Basel, the following round-trip surcharges apply to cover transport and travel time:
- Distance Fee: CHF 0.70 per kilometre driven.
- Time Fee: CHF 40.00 per hour of total travel time.

30-Minute Grace Window: If the total round-trip travel time is under 30 minutes, all travel time fees are waived.
-
No Surprises: All estimated travel surcharges will be calculated and confirmed in writing before your booking is finalized.
2. Kitchen Requirements & Prep Space
To ensure a successful and safe culinary experience, the client must provide:

Space: Adequate counter space for the number of active participants.
-
Basic Utilities: A fully functioning stovetop, a sink with running hot water, and a small parts of cleared refrigerator shelf (if required).
-
Equipment: Access to standard kitchen items such as trash bins, dishwashing soap, and basic cleaning cloths.
-
Note: We will bring all specialized Japanese culinary tools, knives, and ingredients required for the session.
3. Cleaning & Wrap-Up

We want you to relax and enjoy your event. We will completely clean and wipe down the cooking stations, prep areas, and any of your kitchen equipment used during the workshop before we leave.
Gift Voucher Terms and Conditions
Our gift vouchers make a wonderful present for anyone who loves Japanese food. They can be redeemed for any of our group or private workshops, depending on the voucher type.
1. Validity & Expiry

2-Month Validity: Vouchers are valid for exactly 12 months from the date of purchase.

Attendance Deadline: The chosen workshop must be booked and attended before the expiry date listed on the voucher. Expired vouchers cannot be extended or reactivated.
2. Redeeming Your Voucher

How to Book: To redeem your voucher, please contact us directly via email or our booking form and provide your unique voucher number.
-
Upgrades & Higher-Priced Sessions: If you choose a workshop that costs more than your voucher value, you can easily pay the difference. The voucher value will be deducted from the total, and the remaining balance can be paid via TWINT or bank transfer.

Partial Balances: If your voucher value is higher than the chosen workshop, the remaining balance is kept on credit. It can be used toward another session or product before the original expiry date.
3. Cancellations & Rescheduling

Once a workshop is booked using a voucher, our standard Booking & Cancellation Policy applies:
- Advance Notice (10+ Days): You may reschedule your booked session once for free if you notify us at least 10 days in advance.
- Late Notice or No-Shows: If you cancel with less than 10 days' notice, or do not attend the session, the voucher will be marked as fully redeemed and cannot be reused.
4. Non-Refundability

Vouchers are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged or redeemed for cash, either in full or in part.

If your voucher value is higher than your chosen workshop, the remaining balance can be used toward another class before expiry.
5. Transferring your Voucher

Fully Transferable: Vouchers are completely transferable. If you cannot use your voucher, you are welcome to gift it to a friend or family member.

Notification: Please notify us of the new recipient’s name and email address before they submit a booking request.
